Spring Sat Center Parent-Facilitator Conferences Wednesday, 25 February 2015 14:17
Satellite Center Parent/Facilitator Conferences will be held on March 4th between the times of 3:00 to 6:00pm. Giving Feedback To Students In California Wednesday, 25 February 2015 14:09
The Digital Media Team Members recently worked with Digital Media students from The Academy Charter High School in Santa Ana, CA to give feedback on presentations they created. The Academy Charter High students have been working on a project where they were tasked with creating t-shirt designs for their local hockey team the Anaheim Ducks.
Opening Our Doors to the Public Monday, 16 February 2015 21:07 The Satellite Center hosted its Open House Wednesday, February 4th. Over 250 visitors braved a cold and rainy night to venture out to the annual event. Prospective Team Members, parents, community members, and representatives from local businesses were given the opportunity to view current and past projects, learn about the different courses offered, participate in Team Member led demonstrations, and tour the facility. It also gave visitors the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the working environment with Facilitators and current Team Members.
Satellite Center Celebrates First 10 Years Thursday, 05 February 2015 15:16 The Satellite Center officially celebrated 10 years of “Building A Better You” by inviting all alumni, current team members and facilitators to a night of sharing memories, stories of success and insight on how the Satellite Center affected their lives. Over 200 people packed the hallways and work centers to reflect on their years spent at the center and catching up with past classmates. In addition, many of the Sat Center alumni were able to share their stories with current Team Members and offer up connections that could impact their future career plans.

For the past four years the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration Course (HRT) at the Satellite Center has been working with the creators of the Satellite Center Video and Animation Festival (SCVAF) to help plan and organize the annual event. This year, the HRT Team Members met with Rhitt Growl, the Digital Media Facilitator at the Satellite Center, to launch the project at the Professional Learning Center (PLC) in Luling.
Satellite Center Time Capsule Opened Friday, 30 January 2015 15:40 The Satellite Center welcomed one of their alumni, Gina Granger, for an event ten years in the making. Early this morning Gina took center stage at the opening of the Satellite Center time capsule that she helped bury during the 2005-2006 school year. As part of her senior project, at Destrehan High School, Gina worked with a local company to help her build a capsule that could house memories from the inaugural year of the Satellite Center and worked with administration and staff to collect items that would convey the events that took place at the center’s first year.
