Welcome New Team Members! Thursday, 26 June 2014 14:25 We would like to extend a warm welcome to all incoming Satellite Center Team Members for the 2014-2015 school year. Our staff is looking forward to another great year of helping each young person that walks into our doors be the best person they can be; thus fulfilling the motto of  “Building A Better You”. The first item that both parents and Team Members need to know about will be our Satellite Center Parent Night, held on August 6 & 7. Sessions will be held from 6:30pm to 8:00pm each night and attendance will be determined by the Team Member’s last name.
HCE Facilitator Completes Internship Tuesday, 22 July 2014 14:15
Denise Robichaux, the Satellite Center Health Care Exploration (HCE) Facilitator, recently completed a school-to-career internship at the St. Charles Parish Hospital. During the program, brought about by the partnership between the St. Charles Parish Hospital and St. Charles Parish Public School, Mrs. Robichaux was able to learn more about the healthcare industry and our local healthcare facilities.

Recently, four Satellite Center Facilitators attended the 2014 New Tech Annual Conference (NTAC) held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Angela Lange, Brian Gough, Carlos Mayoral, and Rhitt Growl spent the second week of July engaged in a variety of conference sessions, taking part in discussion sessions, and networking with other New Tech teachers from around the nation. The week’s activities were centered on the goal of building knowledge that will be brought to their courses this fall.

The Digital Media Team Members recently passed the Adobe Certified Associate Exam in Graphic Design and Illustration using Adobe Illustrator. By becoming an Adobe Certified Associate, team members validate that they posses entry-level skills needed to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications using different forms of digital media. They can also validate their technical abilities and demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
ATVB at 2014 National History Day Contest Wednesday, 26 March 2014 21:20
Advanced TV Broadcasting Team Members Macey David and Aunja Fenroy took 2nd place in the Senior Documentary Division in the regional round of the National History Day Contest.  The regional round was held at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans on Saturday, March 22, 2014.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is an innovative program that transforms local middle and high school students into real entrepreneurial successes. YEA! is excited to announce that its local program will be hosted at John L. Ory Magnet School in the fall of 2014.
